At Holy Cow!, every season brings its share of fresh new creations. And this summer marks a true first on our menu: the Summer Crunch, a crispy burger with 100% Swiss fried chicken, available in all Holy Cow! restaurants across Switzerland starting July 1st.
This highly anticipated launch is the result of weeks of brainstorming, testing, and above all, the talent of a team that impressed the jury of the Burger Love Creativity Challenge 2025.
A seasonal burger made for summer
With the Summer Crunch, we wanted to create a recipe that’s fresh, indulgent, and generous, just like summer itself.
At the heart of this new burger is a carefully selected Swiss chicken breast fillet, perfectly fried for a golden, crispy outside and an ultra-tender inside.
This base is elevated by a homemade herb and lemon sauce, designed to bring freshness, zest, and a perfect balance of flavours. Everything is served in a soft artisanal bun with crunchy Batavia lettuce.
The result is a summery recipe that’s as tasty as it is irresistible, perfect for sunny lunch breaks or relaxed terrace evenings.
An original creation born in Lausanne
The Summer Crunch didn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of the third edition of our annual in-house competition, the Burger Love Creativity Challenge, which invites all our teams to imagine the burger of tomorrow.
This year, the team from our Lausanne Cheneau-de-Bourg restaurant won over the jury with a clear vision: a burger that captures the very best of summer flavours.
The Summer Crunch has joined our menu as a seasonal newcomer, combining crispiness and freshness with no compromise on taste or product quality.

Last year, we kicked off our internal competition, the Burger Love Creativity Challenge, where our teams got to show off their creativity by crafting a new and original burger recipe. This special burger was available at all Holy Cow! locations for two months.

For the second edition, we decided to step up our game with an extra challenge (we admit, we felt a bit like we were on Top Chef): create a burger that showcases the famous Swiss cheese – Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP, beloved by fondue fans.

After a thorough tasting in Fribourg by a tough jury, including four members from the Interprofession du Vacherin Fribourgeois, the team from Sion took home first place. Their bold creation was closely followed by the Geneva Plainpalais team, last year’s champions who impressed us with their famous Colonel Moutarde.

The Valais team set a clear and ambitious goal: craft a burger that would win over everyone – from the most discerning palates to everyday burger lovers. They nailed it with a recipe that satisfied all tastes.

Introducing: the Röstigraben. Featuring homemade garlic aioli sauce, a crispy rösti patty, two slices of melted Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP, and a 100% Swiss beef patty, this burger is a delicious tribute to Swiss culinary diversity.

This new promotional burger transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries, uniting burger lovers across the country and celebrating our beloved Switzerland. The Röstigraben isn’t just a burger; it’s a symbol of unity and a reminder that, despite our differences, we all share a love for great food.

Fifteen years of revolution, change, pure passion, us, and above all, YOU!

This year marks the 15th anniversary of your favorite burger brand! We couldn’t let this significant milestone pass without expressing a huge THANK YOU for your unwavering loyalty and for continuing to follow us on this culinary adventure.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane to 2009 in Lausanne. Richard, the founder, decided to flip the burger game upside down, never imagining that 15 years later, we would be a household name all over the country. No Instagram stories or TikTok videos back then (yes, Gen Z, we were here before all that), but word got around like wildfire.

The mission was simple: revolutionize the burger scene by serving up fresh, local goodness in record time. Inspired by a mix of Anglo-Saxon vibes, South Park, and Ben & Jerry’s, that’s how Holy Cow! found its groove on the streets of Lausanne.

Fast forward a few months, and we had to upgrade to a bigger spot to accommodate all the burger aficionados. As Holy Cow! became a hit in French-speaking Switzerland, conquering Zurich was the obvious next step.

Today, we have 16 restaurants across Switzerland, and guess what? This Holy Cow! journey is just getting started. We’ve got big plans, stomachs full of ideas, and a fan community that keeps growing.  We will continue to spread our love for gourmet burgers cooked with passion throughout the country. Always true to our roots, our teams are working hard to serve you burgers made from fresh and local ingredients in record time.

To celebrate this epic 15-year milestone, we’ve got a crazy deal for you throughout our 15th year: a CHF 15.00 menu every 15th of the month at participating joints (yep, you read that right).
